After Time Chasing Clock, Its The Switchital Clock
That is awesome! I follow this tech blog -onlygizmos- that has everything ranging from the latest Smartphone (or just a regular cell phone) to new stuff Google plans to release to everything related to the technology world. Believe me, everything. And It was here one of the authors on the blog wrote a post on this new type of digital wall clock by a Swiss designer, Mattihas Pugin.
Well, this clock is not a usual digital clock – the hidden magnets in the clock move and form the digits in time. That is, if it is three in the afternoon, the magnets reshape themselves from the digit ‘two’ to ‘3′ (in digits, not in words). This new digital clock is named (by the designer) the Switchital Clock.
A little excerpt from the blog post:
“Swiss Designer Mattihas Pugin has designed this amazing digital wall clock that works by moving hidden magnets to form different digits ‘in time’. The moving magnets looks more like an animation than a real thing. Switchital, as the designer calls it, seems to be a better concept than the Chasing Time clock.”
Using different and innovative clock designing concepts is something that has been applied earlier too. Few weeks earlier, yet another new concept of wall clock had come designed by a Dutch, where the twelve strips of the clock rotated every one hour. The rotating clock is named Chasing Time after its functionality of indicating the time by rotation.
You may have got almost all the important information about the digital magnetic clock (Switchital), but you surely gotta to watch the video put up on the blog to actually see the working of the clock. A tiny video only of few seconds, is fun to watch. See how the magnets speedily arrange themselves to shape into a new number.
